“Owning our story can be hard but not nearly as difficult as
spending our lives running from it.”
– Brené Brown
Four Saturday mornings in February 2024
10:00-11:30 am CST
About the Workshop
Do you have an event in your life and how it changed you that you’d like to share but don’t know where to start? Perhaps you’ve done some writing, but you’re stuck in the middle. Or maybe you’re not sure which story to tell—what to include and what to leave out.
Get back to your writing in February!
We’ll be meeting on four Saturday mornings for 90-minutes to help you get started or get unstuck pursuing your passion project—to write the story you’ve been burning to tell. You’ll learn the difference between memoir and autofiction, how to find support along with a writing community, and the different paths to publishing basics. After that, we’ll talk about the Mini-Blueprint and how it will make wrangling your story so much easier. We’ll talk why it’s important to know what your story is really about and how your story matters; the basics of scene structure, voice, and point of view; and about how story and plot are different but are both essential parts of storytelling.
You’ll receive information, inspiration, accountability, and we’ll have some fun.
Note: Dates or times may need to be revised due to adverse weather or power outages.

At the end, I will send you my written feedback on the start of your story and suggestions for you writing forward.
Come spend Saturday mornings in February with me to start or get unstuck writing your story. I’ll teach some basics then the group will write a bit and, with my guidance, learn from each other.
